Our Beginning

It Started With One Question.

Why can't I do that myself?

Before BIY Purse Lounge ever became an idea, I spent years trying to figure out what I was meant to do.

And when I say I tried everything, I mean everything.

From dropshipping to making clothes, to trying my hand at building an app, I was constantly exploring new ideas. I knew I wanted to build something of my own. I knew I had an entrepreneurial spirit. But no matter what I started, nothing seemed to hold my attention.

Something was always missing.

Every industry I explored felt oversaturated. It seemed like everywhere I looked, somebody was already doing what I wanted to do.

People would tell me, “Just get in that lane and make it yours.”

But that never sat right with me.

I didn't want to get in somebody else's lane. I wanted to create my OWN.

I wanted to build something different. Something that felt like me. Something I could genuinely be passionate about, not just another business I started because I saw somebody else making money doing it.

Eventually, I reached a point where I was tired of searching.

So one day, I stopped trying to figure everything out on my own.

I got down on my knees, and I asked God for clarity.

I told Him, “God, I know there's something I'm supposed to be doing, I just don't know what it is.Put me in a lane where nobody else is. Help me find something that's mine.”

And I didn't just pray that prayer once.

I prayed it almost every single day for nearly a year. Sometimes three or four times a day.

I wasn't asking for a shortcut. I wasn't asking to become rich overnight. I was asking for direction.

Because deep down, I knew there was something I was supposed to be doing...

I just needed God to show me what it was.

And then, one day, something happened.

Something so simple that I almost could have overlooked it.

I came across an advertisement from a popular purse maker.

They were offering customers the opportunity to choose their own charms and chains, and then the company would attach everything to the bag for them.

As I watched the advertisement, one question immediately came to mind.

“Why can't I do that myself?”

That was it. One simple question.

But this time, something was different.

Instead of scrolling past the idea or losing interest after a few days, my mind started racing with possibilities.

What if there were a place where people could do more than just choose a few accessories?

What if they could actually walk into a beautiful space, select their own handbag, choose their colors, add their own charms, chains, and embellishments, and create something that reflected their personality?

What if customizing a purse wasn't just something you did online?

What if it was an entire experience?

A place where you could come with your girlfriends, celebrate a birthday, enjoy a date night, laugh, create memories, and leave with a handbag that you designed yourself.

Not just another purse sitting in your closet. A purse with a story.

A purse that nobody else had because you created it.

And the more I thought about it, the more excited I became.

For the first time in a long time, I wasn't forcing myself to stay interested in an idea. I couldn't stop thinking about it.

I started imagining everything. The atmosphere. The colors. The customization stations. The music. The laughter. The moment someone would hold up their finished bag and proudly say, “I made this!”

And that's when I knew.

This wasn't just about purses.

It was about creativity, confidence, self-expression, and giving people an experience they could truly call their own.

And just like that, Bag It Yourself was born.

I had spent so much time looking for the right opportunity, not realizing that maybe I wasn't meant to find an existing lane.

Maybe I was meant to create one.

Today, BIY Purse Lounge is the vision that grew from that one question.

A luxury, hands-on purse-customizing experience where fashion meets creativity, individuality is celebrated, and every guest gets to become the designer of something uniquely theirs.

And while the journey to get here wasn't straightforward, I wouldn't change it.

Because every idea that didn't work, every moment of uncertainty, and every prayer for clarity led me here.

To something I genuinely believe in. To something I'm excited to build. To something that finally feels like mine.
